While the cemetery is public, you'll need to book tickets ahead of time to attend a movie screening.
The famous Melrose Rooftop Theatre (MRT) offers an outdoor cinema experience like nothing else! The fun part about catching a flick here is that the spirit of this venue is tied in closely with the fashion and art scene of West Hollywood. MRT has an eclectic rotation of new releases and cinema cult classics on its roster. The viewing experience here also differs from other outdoor movie spots because each attendee gets a headset and beanbag chair. You can also order cocktails and food.
This is not your grandmother's "movie at the park" experience. The Rooftop Cinema Club offers alfresco movie viewing at the rooftop at LEVEL right in downtown Los Angeles. These events are known for their incredible film selections, great snacks, and flowing booze. Guests even get to choose a comfy lawn chair and blanket to stay cozy if a SoCal chill sweeps over the city. You also get a wireless headset to ensure that the chatter of other guests doesn't disrupt your movie-watching experience.
The Montalbán provides an upscale open-air movie theater experience with a bar, concession stand, and full kitchen. When the movie of the night is an R-rated film, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Guests as young as 12 are invited for all other movies. Just make sure all tickets are purchased in advance. Comfy lawn chairs and personal headsets are provided. The rooftop area also has heat lamps to keep things cozy.
